John Turner
John Turner is the latest addition to an already strong pace battery for England. He is a right-arm quick, and his main strength is his pace and accuracy. Due to his skills and quality, he has already been compared to the great Glenn McGrath. He was born on 10th April 2001 in Johannesburg, South Africa but holds a Britis passport through his mother who was born in Zambia to English parents. He made his List A debut in 2021, and his first professional dismissal was the wicket of Sir Alastair Cook. The following year, he made his first-class debut for Hampshire and also registered a five-wicket haul in the first inning. He was drafted by the Trent Rockets for Hundred 2023 and his dazzling white-ball displays for Hampshire, most notably a return of 21 wickets in just 11 Vitality Blast matches earned him a call-up to the national side for their limited-overs tour of West Indies where he made both his ODI and T20I debuts.
